My name is Josh Kaner. I grew up in a suburb of NYC (Merrick) and currently live on the Upper East Side. I graduated from the University of Maryland (a splendid academic institution, primarily known for only having 3 bars in town and riots after playing Duke). I currently work at Undertone Networks doing business development (read: making money in interesting ways). We are a premium online advertising network (and I am not just saying that – ask around) catering to the most demanding marketers, agencies, media companies and publishers.
In addition to my professional pursuits, I also take a lot of pictures. My current equipment includes a Nikon D90, Tokina 11-16mm, Nikkor 18-200 zoom, and a standard fifty (1.8), Aperture, and a 1st Gen MacBook Pro. I have enough pictures to post 1 per day for the next decade – and some of them will be seen here.
I live in the greatest city in the world – and anyone who says that is why they don’t like New Yorkers doesn’t really get it. This place is amazing. You can get up in the morning, take the subway with the Mayor (or the ferry with Eli Manning); walk down the block with a secretive hedge fund CEO, a homeless guy, and see the Carrot Peeler (RIP) within one block. THAT is what makes this city great – the democracy of it all. That and the unbelievable amount of stuff to do and things to see.
I love dogs. I am no dog whisperer, but I do get along famously with most (except for maybe the really snooty ones like Afghan Hounds).
I bought this domain in 2006, and have taken care of it in fits and starts. I seemed to have settled on a hosting provider (GoDaddy), software (WP), and direction (photos, tech, business, Lost, and NY).
